*Sorry I meant lake... Off day that day.*
She was even closer now she reached out to the girl and grabbed her arm and tried pulling her closer. Natalie went under again she was holding on the girls arm and let go so she wouldn't pull her under, she began kicking her legs. Her head bobbed above the surface. She didn't see anyone else around. The lake was consuming her, taking her for it's own. She fought against it, and it dragged her down again. This time even further, she opened her eyes and could see her fiery red floating around her. She began pushing herself up, it wasn't working. "What should I do? Let myself drown or fight to live?"she thought to herself.

Nix kicked her legs out gently but she didnt have the power to keep going any more, she just wanted to sleep and be left alone. Suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her leg and flinched to one side and would have hissed has she been above water still. a small suquid like thing was looking up at her with big brown eyes, it was brigh orange and didnt have any arms or hands or legs or feet it seemed but it had a small mouth and seemed to be trying to talk to her. one of its tenticles want pointing upwards and nix worked in out in moments, it had snapped her out of her trance

She still couldn't reach the surface, she looked down and began to swim that way. She didn't know what she was doing, at this point she didn't care. She thought to herself, "I'm not going to let that girl drown, but why am I swimming this way?" Then something caught her eye, it was shiny. A pearl, but what was it doing in this lake? She swam down to it, her ears began to pop and ring from the strenous amount of pressure. Natalie grabbed and it began to glow fiercly, she began to swim back up, she caught the girls arm agian and she resurfaced.

Nix looked down at the squid like thing and then kicked her legs with all the power she had left, the other girl let go of her and swam down and nix reached out ahand but the squid thing looked here and then pointed to the waters surface and then swam down to the other girl. Nix tried to swim up and made a little distance but didn't get far, then she felt a hand on her arm and the other girl swam past her and tugged her up to the surface and nix took a huge gasp of air and felt her hair stick down to her neck and back and reached a hand up to move it but there came another nip in her leg. She looked into the water to see the squid thing again and this time it pointed towards the school, nix smiled and wished she could take it with her or thank it some how but knew she couldn't ,"let get back" she gasped to the over girl as water washed over her head

She looked over to the girl who had finally seem to be concious, she coughed and ran her hand over her fiery hair. Blinking her eyes to get the water out she said, " Yeah, lets go. By the way when we get to the shore I need to show you something." She looked at the girl, and began swimming forward. Something grabbed her leg lightly, she looked down and her eyes got big. It was a squid, what was as squid doing in here. She didn't freak out too much, afterall this is Hogwarts. She looked back again waiting, then eyed the pearl she beheld in her hand.

Nix nodded and kicked and felt a nip on her leg that wasn't painful but merely a nip to alert her and she looked down to her the little squid, it looked up at her and then wrapped itself around her leg and pulled her forwards as she tried to swim and grinned down at him and soon the shore line was coming up close. Nix smiled and reached out and down to the little squid and picked it up out of the water ,it blinked at her with two green eyes and then made a small mewing kind of noise and curled up. She stopped swimming and beganto tread water as the little squid flicked about in her hand and she began to painc as it suddenly stopped and didn't move again and nix gulped

She looked to the girl, why was she holding the squid. "Awe, poor thing. It's probably alone here at Hogwarts." She looked away for one moment and then back at another, and it was curled up. Natalie's eyes got large and she gulped for air. It seemed as if the squid had took her air with it, she too stopped swimming. She was up to her waist in water, so she began trudging heavily. She still couldn't spot any students, luckily they weren't still out there. She put her hand to her lip, it was still slightly bleeding. She ran her tongue across it, it would probably scar. She didn't care. She looked over to the squid, she felt sorry for it. Natalie reached her hand out to touch it.

Nix knew it was immature and stupid of her to do but she pulled away from the other girl and cradled the squid close to her ,"I'd rather you didn't, I know there's a whole school of them here in the lake, but they are generally aggressive and enjoy hurting students" she said in a small voice as her feet touched down on the lake bed and she took a step forwards on unsteady feet. The little squid mewed against her chest and she looked down. It had changed colour and looked different than when she had first found it, it was now a dark green and it had two small legs and small arms now instead of tentacles. It looked a little like a human child ,nix looked down at it then the two legs shifted and seemed to melt together and she nodded to herself ,"half blood mer-child" she said in a small voice

She looked at her forgivingly, " Ok, will it be ok?" She looked at her then down to the squid, she began to worry. She cared deeply about all animals. Then the squid began to change, she panicked slightly and then it turned in to a half-blood mermaid. "Who all knows about this? And a half-blood mermaid? That's a first for me." She hushed herself and looked into the lake, there were more. "Nix, there they are." She heard the squid mew and her heart melted, it looked so helpless. Even though she knew it wasn't. She stepped backwards and almost fell, she regained almost full balance and ran her hand through her hair.

Nix cradled the mer-child close to her and waded out of the water and then turned round and looked back over the black lakes surface and she shook her head ,"she's an orphan, if she had family they would have come for us by now, it's why she's a half-blood. One of her parents was a mermaid and the other must have been something else from the lake, namely something squid like, she's alone ,it's why she helped us. She had nothing better to do and no one to stop her and no one to care about her" nix said in a tight voice and then she shifted the child in her arms ,"but she'll be safe out of water, look" she said and then nodded down. The squid now looked just like a human toddler with arms and legs aside the fact she had pointed ears and her skin was faintly green in the sunlight, she had long red hair and bright green eyes and nix nodded again ,"she's copied what I look like to protect herself, we need to keep her safe" nix said as the baby mewed again and tired to move her fingers

She smiled lightly, "What about this pearl? I found it in the water." She looked at the baby half-blood, "Mind if I help you take care of her?" She stepped out of the water and sighed. The sky was getting dark now, they'd have to head back to thier dorms soon. She looked up at the sky, it was beautiful and still getting darker by each passing moment. The baby squid continued to mew, it does look like the girl... she thought to herself. She stepped away and turned her back to them for a moment only to spot a dark sleek black wolf pass by quickly. "You saw that right?" she asked Nix quickly.

Nix looked over at be wolf and then at nat and then at the child in her arms and looked at her. She had the same red hair as her and the same bright eyes but the green tint to her skin really made her hair stand out even in the darkeninng sun light ,"feel free to help me but she's staying in our room any way so you wouldn't of had a choice" nix said with a smile and then looked down at the girl again, she broke into a small smile and nix couldn't help but reach one hand out and flick the babies nose ,"you happy now? You happy out of the water?" she said softly and the baby clapped her small hands and giggled quietly and nix laughed and then nodded and looked up at nat ,"I know what I going to call her, pixie, pixa for short" she said and pixie laughed again ,"pixie, me pixie" she repeated in a high pitched voice and nix looked down at her and nodded ,"pixie indeed" nix said and then she chuckled again and started walking towards the school again ,"coming?" she asked her freind

"Oh yeah, we are in the same dorm." She gathered her things and asked Nix if she should carry hers too. She laughed at Pixa's happiness, this was going to be interesting. She began walking towards Nix, "So I'm guessing you know the wolf?" she said with a dark grin and looked back at its shadowy large figure. Darkness had pretty much settled into it's place till morning, and she smiled. This day had turned out pretty well.

Nix looked into the trees where the wolf had run in to and was still hiding in the shadows ,she could see the glint of it's eyes in the darkness of the woods and nodded to herself and then looked back at nat again, "I don't know everything in the forbidden forest, just my pack of werewolves and a few centaurs" she said with a grin and then looked up at the castle and then down at pixie in her arms ,"your going to live here with mummy and auntie now ,we will take care of you" she said in a soft voice and the little girl nodded her head and then closed her eyes, just as nix was about to ask why her hair twisted and curled and then her eyes snapped open ,"me have curl hair, not like mummy but still samish" she said and nix paused and then nodded. Pixie was trying tk make them look related and similar but not like mirrored image of each other because it would raise suspicions of her and nix was not up for getting her little girl thrown back in the lake.
Nix stopped suddeny at her thought and froze on the spot, pixie pulled at her hair to try and snap her out of it and nix looked down at her and her eyes harden ,"my little girl indeed" she said in a low voice and then started walking again

She looked to Nix, and then to Pixa. She walked and looked up at the sky, the Nature and scenery consumed her for a moment and she paused. The wolf was still lurking there watching the two definately unnatural girls. Unwillingly she began walking again, a frown befell her face when she looked to the Tower where the dorm lie. She began walking and sighed, " I wish we didn't have to go, wait she has curly red hair and green eyes. So do I, hmm maybe she should change to wavy and it give a slightly blonde tint. You and I don't look much alike but we do slightly. We can give suspision, what are we going to do if they catch us with her?" She grabbed a strand of her hair and then ran her hand through it, it fell messily. She looked back at Nix who was in a trance, the wolf was slightly closer now. She laughed slightly and stuck her hand in her pocket,
