Angeline put her feet up on the edge of the only couch in the Ravenclaw common room. The stained glass on the sides of the round room looked absolutely exquisite. Along with the gigantic statue of Rowena Ravenclaw with her famous diadem. Though angeline knew it wasn't the exact one, it still shone throughout the common room. The real pen must be somewhere, out there in the world. She sighed deeply. The room was empty except for her, just as it had been all day. Normally her Ravenclaw friends would be up in their dorms practicing new wand techniques or whatever. But she spent her time for one thing and one thing only. Quidditch. She suddenly leapt from the conch, pacing around the room.

Alexander wandered into the common room, a thick book balanced on one hand in front of him. The boy read as he walked, rarely looking up from the pages to make sure that he wasn't running into any walls. He'd been reading in his dorm, but it had been vacant all day and Alex was beginning to get bored up there. So, he'd decided to come to the common room to see if anyone was around.
The room was nearly empty, save for a sixth year girl that Alex recognized immediately. How could he not? It was Angeline Lockwood, the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team Captain, not to mention the Seeker. In his Hogwarts Quidditch notebook, he'd carefully taken down her stats, along with the other Quidditch players from all of the the houses. He knew nearly all of them on sight, especially those from Ravenclaw. Upon seeing the blonde girl, Alex slipped a piece of paper into his book to mark his place and shut it.
"Hello, Angeline," he greeted the pacing girl, seating himself on the couch. "Is something the matter?"

Angeline looked up from her slow pacing. Indeed, she looked strange just a few moments ago. There was another person there. Of course, she expected that. It was the common room, not Angeline Lockwood's personal space for thinking. That certain Ravenclaw looked familiar. Yes. Alex Woltheizen. She had a trouble in remembering his last name, though.
"Hey Alex." she stated, moving around until she finally reached the couch.
The view of mountains in the distance seemed to offset the natural beauty of the diadem and Rowena Ravenclaw. A dark forest would have fit better.
"Oh, nothing much, just thinking about something, what brings you up here?" the Ravenclaw asked, knowing that it was a no-brainer subject. He was a Ravenclaw, obviously he should be up there.

Alex smiled slightly as Angeline seemed a bit startled by his presence. He figured that she must've been quite deep in thought when he'd first come into the room.
He nodded at her explanation. "Reading in the dorms became rather dull. It's been vacant ever since breakfast this morning. I came here in the hopes of finding some company," he explained. Alex's gaze momentarily left Angeline's face and flickered to the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw and her diadem, wondering, not for the first time, what the commonrooms of the other houses looked like. Did they also have statues of their patron? If so, he felt sorry for the Slytherins. Salazar Slytherin never was the most pleasant person to look at, as was apparent from various paintings of him scattered about the castle. Alex couldn't imagine that Salazar Slytherin in gigantic statue form was any less daunting.
"How has Quidditch practice been going?" he asked the girl. He knew it was a common interest of theirs, so it seemed like a logical place to start a conversation.

Angeline nodded as well, knowing for the fact that it did get dull if you were stuck in the same place all day. That was one of the reasons why the Ravenclaw rarely stayed in the tower nukes she had a pile of homework glaring up at her; or she needed to rest from practice. Either way, she was always somewhere else.
He asked her how the Quidditch practices have been going. She smiled at him, thinking of a response.
"Great I suppose. Though mostly I have been racing with Nix, if you know her." Angeline laughed softly. She knew Alex also liked Quidditch, obviously she would expect that if the two were locked together in a room, that would be the number one thing that they would talk about.

Alex nodded at her question. He was, in fact, familiar with Nix. To be truthful, the two seemed to be making progress towards what Alex would consider friendship.
"That's wonderful. Perhaps this will be the year Ravenclaw brings home both the Quidditch cup and the House cup," he remarked mildly. For the past several years, Ravenclaw had earned the House cup, but the Quidditch cup had seemed to elude them in favor of Gryffindor. Of course, he'd rather Gryffindor get the Quidditch cup than Slytherin, and for some reason he'd never thought of Hufflepuff as a House that would ever get the Quidditch cup. He supposed it was because they all seemed to be too nice to really put much heart into sports.
"Perhaps I could come watch a race some time?" he asked politely, "It seems like it would be interesting to see."

Angeline smiled. Of course she knew that Nix and Alex met. And maybe it turned out better than what she was told, but that wasn't for her to know just yet. "I hope so too. But at least, house cup is better than nothing. Slytherin hasn't won those awards in like, what, six terms?" the Ravenclaw definitely hated Slytherins. Especially a certain Slytherin prefect named James Cahyle Lockwood. She couldn't even believe that she and him were related, not even distantly.
"Of course you should. Though, we do never seem to find a winner..." Angeline laughed lightly. Nix was a really good friend of hers. Even if Gryffindors have been kicking Ravenclaw's arse, Angeline could not really find a reason to stay mad at Nix for long.

Alex smirked at her statement. "Do the Slytherins deserve to win those awards? I think not. You'd think they'd learn by now that cheating gets them nowhere." He shook his head. I felt a little bad for generalizing all Slytherins as cheaters, but he had yet to meet one that wasn't at least a cheater, let alone a bully and a snob.
He laughed at Angeline's description of her and Nix's races. "Well then, perhaps I can offer my assistance as a referee?" He smiled at the thought of being able to spend some more time with the two. Angeline was a good person, and though the two weren't extremely close, Alex considered her to be one of his friends. And Nix... well, he certainly wouldn't say no to spending time with her, either.

((ooc: sorry this is like, two weeks late)) The Ravenclaw nodded. Slytherins didn't deserve it, anyway. At least James and his house didn't. It was weird, though. Most of the Lockwoods were Ravenclaws or Hufflepuffs. It sure did surprise her, and the rest of her family, when James came back for the summer in Slytherin robes. She shook her head, trying to get all of those out of her mind.
Angeline laughed. Trying to imagine Alex being the referee for both her and Nix would cause a few little problems. Maybe revolving around favoritism. But Angeline had no intention of thinking negative for Alex. Though her laugh was unmistakable.

Alex's eyes widened at Angeline's laugh, and he put a hand to his chest, mouth gaping in an overly-exaggerated hurt look.
"Why, Angeline!" he gasped, "Do you not think that I could be an objective referee? I'll have you know that I am one of the most honest people you will ever meet, and your doubt of my ability to judge fairly hurts me quite deeply." He chuckled himself, his feelings not really hurt at all. "But really, why don't you think I could be an objective referee? Do you think I'm biased?"
