Kevin was bored this evening after classes. He was not sure what the evening would lead to. He truly never was sure how his day would work out. Some days he could see a sibling other days he'd never see anyone but strange faces in the crowd. Today he wanted relax, today he was relaxing against a tree at the edge of the Black Lake. The sun was still up but would probably set in the next few hours. It was nice to relax by the lake, hear the sounds of the lake to the sounds coming from the forest.
He was thinking of the day that went by as he relaxed against the tree. He closed his eyes slowly as he thought but was not asleep. One thing that was on his mind was his family. He never really saw any of them, not that he minded, sometimes it was nice. Every so often he would see his brother since they of course were in the same year and they had classes together. Still it seemed like everything was always on the go. Sometime it would be nice to catch up.
Martin was his only true brother, they were twins, and even though life had been hard for the both of them both together and separate from each other. Kevin still loved his brother dearly even if they did not always get along. They competed with almost everything they did now, but sometimes that was the thrill of the two being brothers. They could compete and still be friends. Though Kevin would never lie that his closest sibling was Tain.
Kevin continued to sit there and think. No movements really came from him with the exception of his chest with his breathing. Finally his eyes opened back up and he now just looked towards the lake. He did not look anywhere else though, just straight ahead. He almost looked dazed out, but he was still perfectly aware of everything happening.

It was alone time for Martin. Plain and simple. He didn't mind occationally talking to people, and he could act really civil when necissary, but that didn't mean he enjoyed it. He much preferred just being alone. With the evening taking over, he figured he would head down to the lake with a book, read a little or get some studying done, just so long as he didn't have to worry about anyone else. However, making his way out of the castle and toward the lake, he saw a figure. His heart sank a little, saddened by the fact that he wasn't going to be alone. Flipping his hair out of his eyes, he continued on anyway, thinking that he could just find a spot away from the person and they could mind their own business.
Coming in closer to the figure, Martin's soft grey eyes narrowed, it was like looking at a reflection of himself, only his hair was a softer shade of red. He never did like that Kevin dyed his hair. Martin didn't care about fitting in. He was who he was, plain and simple. Leaning against the tree that his twin was sitting at, Martin waited for him to finally open his eyes before speaking up softly, "Usually I'm the one with the dazed out look... What's on your mind?"

Kevin had been quite shocked that it was Martin standing above him. He looked at his brother but made no movements to stand up. He smiled softly that his brother had come here even if he hadn't expected it. “Thinking about the family, the fact I almost never see any of you guys,” he told him. He scooted over on the trunk to make room for Martin to sit down. “Unfortunately that's the downfall to be the only one in a different house,” he said. “Want to sit?” he finally asked his twin.
The two young men seemed on opposites sides of the earth sometimes. He leaned further back and relaxed. “I also thought I'd play you for the day,” he joked, “that might explain my dazed out look.” He thought it was funny whenever he did something that was more normal to the opposing twin than to himself.
“You know every time I see you lately I feel like I'm looking like a mirror, except it's one of those trick mirrors,” he told him. Him and his brother had completely opposite lives, well the same but different ways of living it. “How come you're down here today?” he asked him.

Watching him scoot over, Martin sat down beside his brother, sliding down the tree and planting his butt on the ground. Nodding his head, he spoke softly, "At least we have a few classes together..." Thanks to them being in the same year, they at least got to see eachother a couple of times a week, excluding meal times and that sort. He would admit, no matter how competitive they got, he missed his brother. His legitament twin brother.
Martin let out a soft snort as he heard Kevin say he was thinking about being him for the day. "You could probably pull it off if it wasn't for the hair." He reached over and ruffled the red hair on top of Kevin's head. Chuckling softly, he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the tree comfortably. "You mean where you see yourself living a different life? I see that.... Sometimes I wish I was living your life. You're so much happier than I am... So much more lively...." He allowed himself to trail off, staring off at the lake absent-minded.

Kevin nodded with what his brother said. “That would be true, but still doesn't seem enough,” he told him. The times in their lives where they had been completely separated. It was straining sometimes to be so close to someone who was truly related to someone yet so far away. Out of everyone the two were the only ones actually related.
“You've always hated the fact that I dye my hair,” he said reaching up and fixing his hair, “and don't ruffle it,” he laughed. When Martin began to talk about what Kevin had spoke about before. “Not what I meant, I meant those mirrors that muggles have, my family took me to one of those things after we were separated, they change the shape and what not, but they don't have ones that change colors,” he said. He looked down as he thought about what Martin said.
His brother spoke about wanting to live Kevin's life, to be happier and livelier. Kevin sighed before talking once more. “You should never wish something like that, Martin we're twins, they say twins are supposed to have different personalities,” he said. He gave his brother a very gentle push in the shoulder, “you are who you are and everyone likes you for that, I'd offer to make you more livelier and happier but I'm not sure if it will work, it's not very easy to push personalities into people,” he said.
He watched his brother stare absentmindedly out towards the lake. "Maybe it was the lake that made me act like you and daze out to stare out at the water," he told him.

Martin shook his head to clear his mind as he heard Kevin speak up. He was so prone to dazing off, it was rediculous. He tilted his head to the side, narrowing his brow slightly in thought. Mirrors that changed people's shapes and sizes? He could honestly say he hadn't heard of one of those. The family he stayed with didn't exactly treat him the best. They had their own children as well as the foster ones, and naturally they favored their birth children. "I don't know those mirrors that you're talking about..." He shrugged lightly, looking back toward the lake.
Martin frowned slightly as Kevin spoke about teaching people personality traits and how it was definitely not an easy task. "I feel like I'm always angry... it's pent up, waiting to be released. I don't know how to get rid of it without hurting someone.... And you seem to be dealing with everything so easily. You're so much more level headed than I am... which would explain why you ended up in Ravenclaw." He chuckled softly before continuing on, "The lake just has a way with it... Pandora literally had to yell and throw a book at me because I was so dazed while staring at the lake the other day. It was both startling and funny." He looked over at Kevin, a slight smile upon his lips.

Kevin looked at him and nodded, “well our separate parents were not the best, but that's one thing I do remember,” he said. He looked down remembering the stories he heard of Martin's parents at the time. He did not speak of it though. “They're interesting,” he said, “they're like wavy mirrors,” he told him.
Martin began to speak and all at once Kevin did not believe he had ever heard so much come from his mouth at once. He spoke of his anger and Kevin not having much which made him look down. It was not true Kevin had just as much of a temper as Martin did but he would not let it out. Kevin was probably worse of than Martin if he ever blew up. He wasn't sure what to say to Martin, which was different for Kevin. He thought about it. “Have you ever tried talking it out?” he asked, “talking it out with someone might work.” It was the only suggestion he could think of. He did not want to tell Martin how he was feeling on the inside sometimes. He really hid a lot of the stuff that was going on inside of him.
It was Martin's next words that perked him up. He laughed as he pictured Pandora doing such a thing. “Well if you daze out to much, I won't throw a book at you, I'll just tackle you,” he told him with a grin.

Martin let out a soft laugh and shook his head, "Talking it out only works with you, Kevin. If I tried talking it out with anyone else, I would lose my cool easily." He reached for a rock next to him and skipped it across the top of the lake, disturbing the mirror like surface. He had to stop himself from staring at the small ripples and dazing off again. Instead, he reached up and ruffled the back of his hair a bit and yawned.
Looking over at Kevin, he nudged him back softly and smirked, "Anything new in your life? Girls, friends, etcetera?" He chuckled softly, tossing another rock into the lake quietly.

Kevin nodded, “I understand what you mean,” he said. He grabbed his own rock and tossed it at the water. “That keeps me from dazing as well, I really think it's the water,” he told him. He watched Martin ruffle the back of his hair and he laughed. “You like ruffling hair don't you?” he said.
It was when his brother asked him if there was anything new. “Preparing for our O.W.Ls, I did meet a guy the other night, his name's Zane he's a fourth year in my house, he's a trouble maker, not to say that I wasn't getting into a little bit of trouble myself that night,” he said, “I was up in the Astronomy Tower studying the stars and what not, and he came running in, scared the bloody hell out of me,” he told him.
He thought about the girls and blushed, he was a people person but as for girls he hadn't the experience yet. “No girls though,” he said, “maybe I should find some female twins around and hook us both up.” His grin turned from ear to ear. He thought of anything else that was new, “planning for the future, everything else is pretty much the usual,” he told him, “how about you?”

Martin shrugged lightly, going to ruffle his hair again but pausing and placing his hand in his lap, "Nervous habit, I guess." He chuckled softy, twisting his hands in his laps, keeping them busy. He nodded his head, smiling faintly as Kevin spoke up about meeting a guy named Zane and causing a bit of trouble. He couldn't help but chuckle at his next statement though. Hook them both up with twins? Shaking his head, he smiled over at him, "There isn't a chance. I wouldn't be able to keep a date to save my life."
Upon being asked if there was anything new in his life, he shook his head and shrugged lightly. "Studying, studying, studying, and more studying. I've been keeping to myself mainly." He shrugged again, glancing out toward the lake.

Martin spoke of his hair ruffling being a habit. “I never said you had to stop,” he laughed and ruffled his brother's hair now. He pushed his shoulder a bit and grinned. They were most definitely brothers. Martin told him that he couldn't keep a day to save his life which made Kevin pout a bit. “So does that mean I will never have nieces or nephews?” he asked him. That would have to change, he knew one thing was for sure his brother would have to learn how to date.
Kevin laughed when his brother said he'd been studying and keeping to himself. “Keeping an eye on Pandora and Maya?” he asked, “and if you ever need someone to study with come find me.” He always pushed a little bit on the studying part, he liked to study, that was for sure, it was just natural to him. “Cause you know I can always help,” he told him, "and am always willing to help."

Martin shook his head, a soft chuckle escaping passed his lips as he looked over at Kevin. "You'll have neices and nephews some day... I just have to perfect my dating skills. Otherwise, no, you won't have any, unless Pandora beats me to it." He let out a low chuckle again, ruffling his hair once more. It was true, him and Maya would probably be the last to come home with a date. He figured he was just too quiet for anyone to actually try to get to know him. But he wasn't going to change to make someone like him. Yes, he was good at the whole 'fake it til you make it', but when it came to relationships, he just didn't see the point seeing as they would get to see the real him soon enough.
Reaching into his book bag, he pulled out thier charms book and flipped to the middle of the book. He pointed toward the spell he was currently studying and trying to perfect, "If I'm not watching after those two, I'm working on this. You're more than welcome to work on it with me... they're just silencing charms though... nothing too amazing." He shrugged nonchalantly, his soft blue eyes scanning the page for the thousandth time.

Kevin laughed at Martin's words and ended up leaning back against the tree and closed his eyes once more. “You know you'll find that one person who you can open up to,” he told him. He himself had a hard time with girls, it was not that he did not like them, it was just a little awkward at first when spending time with girls. Maybe he himself was having a hard time getting to the point where he could actually date someone. “She'll probably be as quiet as you and you two can be quiet together,” he grinned.
“Silencio?” Kevin asked him looking at the spell. It was just slightly difficult for him but he picked it up. Charms unfortunately was not one of the classes that Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff had together. He pulled out his wand, “for the most part when you say it focus the most part on the len than anything else,” he told him. He looked around and than silenced a bird that was up in the tree above them that had been singing. “Also don't worry about to much flicking, silencio works nice with a straight point,” he told him, “that was my problem, the Charms professor kept telling us to flick the wand but when I got it straight it worked ten time easier,” he told him.
“I thought you were always pretty good at Charms, better than me at least,” he noted. He smiled, “guess it's just some spells than others?” he asked him.

Martin shook his head and laughed. "That would be one quiet household if that were the case." It would have been like they had put a silencing charm on the entire house. He wouldn't mind that, not in the least actually. Maybe a silent girl would come his way, he couldn't pick anyone more perfect if that were the case. Speaking of silencing charms, he chuckled again as his brother spoke up about figuring it out with a little help. "I have it down, trust me. I'm just trying to perfect it... To the point I could silence an entire room.... or building. Without anyone noticing it was me." He glanced over at Kevin, a michievious glint in his bright eyes. Charms was his best class, which was exactly why he found joy in manipulating them and perfecting them.
